MIT has done a large study on lead response time that resulted in some interest stats to take note of.
* If a business takes longer than five minutes to respond or reach out and contact said prospect after they have filled out a lead form online you're chances of actually connecting with the customer drops by 900%. (Speed is Power)
Now, I know some of you are probably saying in your head, well, if they can't wait 5 minutes, then they aren't my customer, or I won't be able to work with them etc. It does make sense logically, but that's not the issue.
* 50% of consumers will do business with the first business who contacts them.
Hence why automated follow up and engagement is so important. If all you did was implement an automated follow up program acknowledging customer prospects immediately after they fill out a lead form informing them of the next steps you have an opportunity to take 50% of your leads off the market immediately. Now, that's strategic advantage that's just too easy to pass up.
